A gift for Ren_rabbit on FA, cuz she awesome and she's family. :D

I've been working on this for three days! And against all odds, I think I found another ingot of Epic to mold. In the last moments of finishing this up, I felt really. Fuckin. AWESOME. Like, "kick ass!!" kinda awesome.

I love Kukris!!! >.<!!

*ahem*

Anyway, this one's for you, hon! I hope ya like it. ^w^ I put a lotta work into it (since I've been practicing how to draw kukris for a week x3), And I think it came out great.

The runes on the spine say "I AM YOUR SUPPORT"

The large runes in the circle spell her name, and the small ones to represent the four elements.\

I loved drawing this. I really did. So enjoy! :D

Why yes, you do. :O Those are the kind of designs I aspire to, in the sense of complexity, creativity and originality. I also like how you give them depth with very skillful shading.

Well, when a persons skill and talent really stand out to me, I like to let them know. :) Often I learn from what they do, to better refine my own work. Those years deffinitely show, and you assuredly get better, if your current work is any indication (which obviously, it is.)

I'll do that. I might get a few new idea along the way, even. Thanks. :D

your skill is also apparent in your work. I cannot draw even a basic figure very well, so I mostly stick with weapons and occasionally armor designs. I was wondering If you draw on gray paper? It looks like you do and for some reason it works. I have never been able to get any gray paper (not even at art stores) but I've often wondered if it could be use effectively. If that is what you use I need to find some.

Why thank you, very much. It only dawned on me how much what you said may have been a hidden compliment, when I was browsing your favorites and saw my own work. I felt rather thick for not thinking of it sooner, haha.

I worked along the same lines, until a few friends and their art inspired me to try harder. Hence my more recent work.

Actually, I use printer paper, or a 30"x36" white sketch tablet (I call it a tablet, but I'm not sure what it actually is). A lot of my stuff looks gray because I don't have a scanner, and use a digital camera instead. The lighting seems to effect the exposure differently each time, usually giving the grayish appearance. Some of them even turn up somewhat yellowish, though I'm not sure why. Another thing to keep in mind, is that smudging is my usual shading technique, and can also make an image look gray. Personally, I believe it's a culmination of all these facters. Although, I'm now interested in this gray paper myself...

I did mean that as a compliment, I have an unusually formal way of speaking sometimes, so don't feel thick. sometimes I read my own comments and think "Don't be so formal just say it's good!" and so then sometimes I sound over enthusiastic.

I've seen some classical works (Da Vinci and the like) that were done on gray paper. they used black and white pencils (charcoal probably) and they were really good (but this is Da Vinci were talking about) I have no idea where to find it though. and I've looked.
